Interesting, yes, maybe it had something to do with her. She's getting more well-known every day, and in the process she is sucking up a lot of Kate McKinnon Google Juice.

Perhaps the 1500 visitors were looking for this? She might have been a guest on a tv show or ??? that mentioned tickets for the December 23 appearance.

We have so many bunnies. Cats fight back. I'd way rather eat a bunny than a cat. I don't know what type of owl she feels that she has. I'm on the case though.

Best owl sighting time is at deep dusk, when there just a bare line of dark blue color left at the horizon before the sky goes completely black. Somewhere between Blue-black and Black.

If the owls are raising young, you may see fledging owlets at the nest during enough light to use binocs to see detail. They are so cute, bobbing and weaving and stretching their wings. Unfortunately, palm trees do not make safe places to raise owlets. Some fall to their deaths before they can fly. If you have a sun-sheltered spot, you can build your own nest box out of a sheet of ply and a 16' 4x4. I have some plans if you're interested.

Barn Owls make lots of noise (shrieks, hissing, clacking) all night when raising baby owlets. Could keep one awake if close enough. But they don't hunt larger mammals like cats or hares.

'Hoo...hoohoo' are the calls of Great Horned Owls, twice the size of Barn Owls, and they do take cats and rabbits if available. She should keep her cats in at night anyway.

I understand from her posts that she is afraid it will eat her cat. Really, cats are a lot of trouble to eat, I 'd be surprised if an owl chose to go for one when there are so many bunnies and field mice and such to nibble on.

What could an owl possibly doing to ruffle this woman's feathers? Eating rats? Making quiet hooting sounds at night?

I am all for prowling through owl pellets. Hey, that was a trip to hear that you accepted an offer on your little building. Wow! Instant change!

In my college biology class, we would pry through owlet regurgitations and put together the tiny bones to see what animals the owls had eaten...it was one of my most favorite labs and I was completely fascinated by it all...
