dang

I caught the cold that so many people and the freezing weather repeatedly offered. Ah well. At least it isn’t the flu. And at least I have a boatload of grapefruit and tangerines. And a warm soft bed that I can’t seem to fall asleep in. It also just happens to be the first time I’ve been alone in a couple of weeks, that little moment after Christmas when the house goes quiet and Miss Fish goes nuts. She’s been tearing around for hours, chasing imaginary lizards. We dream of summer, Fish and I, and chafe at the closed doors and freezy cold everything.

The next couple of weeks of my life are all about reviewing book proofs. The couple of weeks after that are all about putting together the pre-order packets and Cigar Box Bead kits. Then shipping to all of the pre-orders, and sending out the thank-you gifts. And then sending out the complimentary copies to the bead stores around the country that think they don’t want to carry books anymore, and to the bead societies, for their libraries.

If you were thinking of getting a copy and you haven’t yet, do it! It’s gorgeous!

  1. Gawd, my hands are itching to be able to do something, anything….but at this minute I want to sew beads together. Hope your cold works its way to the end quickly!

  2. Feel well soon. That little cold grabbed me right after Christmas too. I kicked it’s ass in a couple of days. No doubt you will too.
Can’t wait for that book. Woooo Hoooo!
And for our visit next month.

  3. Get well soon! If you like cinnamon, know that it is a natural anti-infection ingredient for teas or hot wine… do you know hot wine ?
