I can’t even tell you all of the things that happened today, not because they are confidential or because I’d have to kill you if I told you, but because I can’t remember them all. I can tell you that I am renting my carport/shop building to a woodworker, and he is going to make it lovely and fill it with gorgeous power tools and build things. And that will be really nice.
And AJ Reardon came over to bead today, but I have to confess that I am not at my best (may Allah fill the Cup Cafe with the offspring of ten thousand fleas for poisoning me) and I forgot to take a picture of her. I did photograph the piece that she is working on, but it isn’t finished yet. She’s doing a tip-touching Channel-Set Mermaid Cuff, and it’s really fascinating, with lots of room for pattern exploration. Yay-J.
Jean Power attempted to heal me with bitters. Photo by Jean Power, from her now-caught-up blog
And Phyllis Dintenfass sent a box full of pretty foldy squares (she calls them Tetra-Phyls) in a glorious rainbow spill. I’ve been admiring them non-stop. She is graciously allowing me to play with them, photograph them, even take them apart and make a piece with them if I want to. I roll in this kind of collaboration like a dog in fresh grass. Suzanne Golden sent us photographs to break your heart, for our Gallery. Janet, from Florida, sent her interpretations of Jean’s work, and Gabriella made great headway on her Golden Sea Serpent. Teresa Sullivan is at the ready to make a red one, with fins and possibly dragon flames. Allison Shock is drawing a couple of hilarious standards for Tips One Should Heed and Pearls Of Wisdom. I’m making a Mutli-Finned Segmented Serpent, in bronze and grey, with peeks of red and orange. Jean is illustrating.
Other people are doing other things, too. I will forget to mention everyone; the work is tendrilled out in all directions right now. It’s exciting, and terrifying.
Jeroen finished his beaded gun (or did he?) and Debi and Chris are playing with cones (you guys, I am so excited to see what you are making.) Gail Crosman Moore is beading away, so exciting. Also CANNOT WAIT to see what she makes. I just looked inside our Seahorns and discovered that they were even more beautiful from the inside than the outside, as if that were even POSSIBLE.
My head spins as the rest of me shudders.

Reading these updates has affected my dreams! My last dream of this morning was set in your Tucson house, very dreamy with shapes made of beads and some carved of rich woods. I cannot wait for the book!

Psh, no one wants to see pictures of me anyway, unless I am wearing a tiara.
Guess what just got a surprise stash of 2mm crystals today? Time to daydream about sparkly belly bands…
