I’m making Sea Serpents and red Under-Horns today. More photos soon, I’m sure.
I like music in the morning, not the news. I have never voluntarily watched a morning news or talk show IN MY LIFE. And I’m never going to start. To be fair, I don’t watch them at any time of day. They just hurt more in the morning.
Kate McKinnon, globe-trotting writer and metalsmith, has devoted herself to the study of how things are done, and how they could be done better. She lives in Tucson, Arizona, and loves warm weather, nice people, rides in the car, and good books.

That’s so very true. I don’t watch them either but when I lived in DC, I did. Every morning was the tally of how many murders the night before and how many for the year. I stopped then. Couldn’t take it any more!
I’ve never had the slightest tolerance. Walter Cronkite was on every evening in our home when I was a child, and 60 Minutes on the weekend, so I was subjected to that, but those were also decently done, they weren’t the donkey shows they are today.
I used to watch the morning news just long enough to see the weather. But I’d have to sit through some of the sensationalistic “reporting” (and I use that word very loosely) and hear about fires, murders, and “storms of the century.” It really is a downer way to start theday.
So instead, I turned off the TV, and threw a sweater in the car. And I’m pretty much good to go… and it’s so much better for my state of mind.

Yes, the vivid display of the daily horrors turned me off from the “Telly”. That, & the loud, obnoxious commercials are why I gave up television.
