it sure is pretty out there

The weather is lovely, sunny and warm and blue sky and there is the tiniest hint of a breeze.

There are birds, lizards, even a few flies and bees are out. No dragonflies yet. The last hummer fledged the nest in the pine tree- a hearty congratulations to his mother Hen for bringing two babies into the air. Lord knows raising children isn’t easy these days.

I’m still working on the answer to this beautiful place; I’m sitting on so much space. I looked at the property assessment and it seems to be a fact that I command over an acre here in my urban paradise. I keep talking to people who are looking for shared yet private space, and I suspect that will be the path.

I spoke to someone yesterday I really liked, a woodworker looking for a shop space to rent. I have an entire outbuilding sitting empty that would love to be a woodshop, no doubt about it. It will all sort itself out, I’ve faith in that.

I’ve got to take my Mac into the shop. I use it hard and take it everywhere, and not only does it need a new battery, but the little zone where the ports are is a little bit flaky. I’m quite certain this has everything to do with me having emptied a large glass of water into the keyboard, and it’s excellent of Apple to keep fixing it. Love that Applecare.

I’ll miss it, of course. Could be three or four days away from home. At least the cats finally showed up last night. I think they went to a party, and I am not even kidding.

Hi Kate, Right now I sit here enoying the photos of your garden space, and talk of birds and bugs and lizards, and I just sigh. We recieved a royal dumping of snow on Friday, measuring a hefty 6 to 8 inches, and this week we are expecting more, with the amount end of week being another 8 inches. I love winter, you kinda have to when you live in it, but I am ready to see my grass and garden and the summer birds. My oak tree in the back is lively with black and grey squirrels, as we have suet and sunflower seeds out all winter, and the dog enjoys chasing them away from “his” oak tree. The cats are getting bored at looking at the fresh whiteness outside. So, in the meantime I am enjoying your photos of sunshine and warmth and life renewing in another season, and very hopeful that spring is just around the corner for me.

I am glad I got to see the late-fledging baby hummer before he left the nest!

It is really not even fair how beautiful our weather is. My poor mother-in-law is currently flying back into Winter. The highs in her part of NY are still lower than our lows.
