fledgy days

I’m whelmed with sentiment this morning, as I wait (as I always do) for the sun to rise. Happily it is almost March, and we are summer-bound, so the light comes earlier each day. It’s quite a different feeling watching the days get shorter; I strongly prefer this, the joyous cavort into summer.

Here are two charming little Allan’s hummers fledging. Currently ours both still fit into their nest, unlike these guys. I don’t spend enough TIME standing under the pine tree, what I need is Hummercam, so I don’t miss a trick.

I put the solar cover back over the pool yesterday and I can once again imagine putting my body into the water, which all of a sudden doesn’t feel like ice anymore. Swimming and summer will be so good for re-stronging my arm, which is better every day. I got a great set of stretches and exercises to do, and along with the ice and the heat (I am taking hot baths, which might become a habit- I have a huge bathtub and am loving the soaks) I can feel the improvement.  Really, I just need to stay warm, that strikes me as the answer to life.

There are more lizards around every day. I see them when I water the plants, you know, they are lurking around behind the vines and at the base of the shrubs, and when the hose comes to their zone, they run up the walls, blinking in the sunshine.
